This auction is for the largest Jim Lee piece of artwork ever offered to the public. This monster 3’ x 7’ x 5/8” illustration of Jim Lee’s character “Grifter” was once part of the office walls at Wildstorm. The artwork itself is on drywall that was cut away carefully and intact as seen in the pictures. This historical piece is a once in a lifetime item for Jim Lee art collectors. Something of this size and magnitude will likely never hit the market again.
This artwork has been generously donated by Jim Lee himself (special thanks to Eddie Choi) to help artist Oliver Nome pay his medical bills and is signed by Mr. Lee. This item is available for pick up at San Diego Comic Con. If you are unable to attend SDCC and would like to bid on the piece, please contact us with your location and preferred shipping method. Be warned, this piece of artwork is very heavy and will cost a lot to ship. Insurance is required on this purchase.
THE AUCTION IS SCHEDULED TO START IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. LOOK FOR AN UPDATE HERE AT CAF!
About Oliver Nome
Oliver Nome is an artist for Aspen, DC, Marvel comics who has recently been diagnosed with a golf ball sized tumor in his brain (SUCCESSFUL surgery on June 8th!). Oliver is a freelance artist, does not have health insurance and the procedure to remove the tumor will cost between $75,000 and $100,000.
The purpose of this auction is to attempt to alleviate some of the financial pressures that will come from having the surgery.
Your help during this auction will help Oliver pay down some of the expected medical bills, keep up with current financial commitments, and allow him some time to recover properly without that financial burden hanging over him.
