Green Lantern #151
(Kyle Rayner was always my favourite Green Lantern, largely thanks to Grant Morrison making him our POV character in his JLA run. Otherwise, I generally dislike Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, and anything else related to the franchise…)

On Tuesday The Source released 4 images of the Justice League #1 cover. This is the combo Single issue + Digital copy cover. All that’s different is the back ground

I really don’t think we should call this a “variant” cover. It’s a photoshop re-colour. I have nothing against them, mind you, for second printings and the like, but it’s not really a VARIANT, you know? You’re telling me DC couldn’t find an artist for a variant cover?
You know what would be a good marketing stunt given the recent gender criticisms? Having a month where all DC Universe comics get a variant by a female artist. Amanda Connor, Jo Chen, Fiona Staples, Amy Reeder, Rebekah Isaacs, Jill Thompson, Nicola Scott, Adriana Melo, Pia Guerra, Colleen Doran, Joyce Chin, there’s a ton of talented artists who have worked for DC in the past…
Marvel is REASONABLY successful with their themed variants, maybe DC should adopt something similar.
